The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) states that: “during an outbreak in a specific area, it would be appropriate for employers to plan for a total workplace absenteeism rate of between 20% and 30%.   Pandemics can affect business in numerous ways such as employee absenteeism, customer orders delayed or cancelled, suppliers not providing material, etc.
