Control of Hazardous Energy by Lockout and other means (Based on CSA Z460)
This course is for individuals who need to specify requirements and objectives for procedures, techniques, designs, and methods to protect personnel from injury from the inadvertent release of hazardous energy. The release of hazardous energy can be any motion, energization, start-up, or release of stored energy that can harm a person(s). Lockout is recognized as the primary method of hazardous energy control. When traditional lockout prohibits completion of tasks, other methods of control that provide effective protection are described.
